Origins and Ownership

Media strategy consultants Spectrums Lady Lane-Fox and Brent Hoberman, founded in 1998 in London. The company then offers late holiday deals online. By January 2000 the website had more than five-hundred-thousand regular users and its offerings has expanded to include travel, gifts and entertainment. Prior to the company’s floatation, raised a further thiry-one-million dollars that made them opened offices in Paris, Munich and Stockholm.   

Fabio Cannavale, the company’s co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, holds a Diploma in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano as well as an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France. He co-founded Volagratis with Marco Corradino in 2004 and became Chairman of Bravofly Rumbo Group and now CEO of group. He started his career as a Consultant, working between 1989 and 1996 for A. T. Kearney and McKinsey & Company. Between 1996 and 1998, he launched The Floating Village in Venezuela, an innovative concept of a holiday village built on boats. From 1999 to 2001 he was a part of the Management Team of eDreams, an online travel start-up, and from 2001 to 2004 worked for his family-owned businesses and collaborated with a not-for-profit entity. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Cavotec SA, Nomina SA and Consortium Real Estate BV.

Unfortunately, given the fact that their website shows vibrant colors and encouraging photos, travel stories and other travel advertisements, the customers of are not quite satisfied about the company’s features and customer service assistance. Most of the reviews about refers on how low thier customer services were, and how customers are charged for more that they can afford–with no refunds or rather, with refunds that takes ages to recieve. Booked a hotel through last minute using a NHS Discount code,which was accepted and the discount applied. Proceeded to the payments page,still showing the discounted amount,paid with my Credit Card,received confirmation email,showing that the full amount had been taken?,apparently the discount had been declined! If I had known this before making my payment,I wouldn’t have gone ahead with the booking,I was not given a chance to decide,or manned the booking. Underhand and fraudulent .Reported to Customer Service,a total waste of time. Keep away from these COWBOYS!”

“Tried to book a hotel online, but insufficient details to book and couldn’t find a way to contact them online. Then, 20 minutes later got an unsolicited call from an onshore call centre (I specifically selected the option for no contact) trying to sell me the booking. Based on the number of negative reviews posted on some reviews sites, should have taken actions about those accusations that might help  them regain the trust of their customers and soon to be cutomers, reliablity is the key. Ensuring their customers that they will have an accommodation and assistance worthy of the money they’ve spent, I think they’ll be good to go.

    Accidentally booked with them through their app, and had to call their customer service for a refund which by the way was the most disappointing customer service assistance. They told me about the booking I’ve made and had to stay on line for about an hour and a half only to tell me that I’ll be able to get my refund after 15 days. The incident happened for almost three months now and I haven’t receive any refund. I was very disappointed.
