Mango Airlines Reviews
Mango Airlines is a government-owned low-cost carrier in South Africa that operates from its main hub at OR Tambo International Airport. The airline, which mainly offers domestic flights, is a subsidiary of South African Airways the flag carrier of Africa. Travelers who plan to explore the country should take a look at the Mango Airlines reviews I found below.
Origins and ownership
Mango Airlines was formed on October 30, 2006 and began its first flight on November 15, 2006. As of now, the airline has yet to join any airline alliance, but by 2016’s third quarter, they will be joining Star Alliance as a Connecting Partner.
Since the airline’s founding, the Chief Executive Officer has been Nico Bezuidenhout.
What people are saying
For a low-cost domestic airline, Mango seems to have garnered a surprisingly huge amount of positive reviews from their previous passengers. What people liked most about this airline are the quality of the seats as well as the excellent service from their staff. The cabins were frequently cleaned by the maintenance crew, which was highly appreciated by the passengers as well. The food was fine, and the WiFi connectivity (which is paid, by the way) is also good.
However, not everything is favorable since other customers have complained about the frequent delays and unexplained cancellations.
Much like their planes, Mango’s website uses a large amount of orange. In the middle of their homepage, you will find the booking form that can be used to book flights, avail of car rentals, or both. The tabs docked on top of the form can be clicked to choose between those services.
Aside from booking, passengers may also use the website to check-in online, avail of extra services such as the in-flight WiFi, manage their existing bookings, and avail of some travel packages.
Mango Airlines also developed a mobile app which runs on Android, Blackberry, and iOS devices.
To get in touch with the airline’s call centre, clients from within Africa may dial 086 100 1234 while those from abroad may call either +27 (11) 086 6100 (Johannesburg Airport call centre) or +27 (21) 815 4100 (Cape Town International Airport call centre). You may also send them a message at email@example.com. Please visit this page to know more.
Mango Airlines’ headquarters is at OR Tambo International Airport with a focus city at Cape Town International Airport while their main office is in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, Gauteng, South Africa.
The airline operates a small fleet of nine Boeing 737-800s and one Boeing 737-300, which then offers domestic flights to Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, George, Johannesburg, and Port Elizabeth. They also offer flights to Zanzibar, Tanzania.

For a budget carrier like this one, it’s actually rare to see such good feedback. Most of the time, passengers will feel deprived of the basic in-flight amenities and services, however, this does not appear to be the case with Mango. As per the Mango Airlines reviews I found, while the carrier did still have punctuality issues, once you get on-board you will feel the accommodating atmosphere that Africa has to offer.
