The airline’s roots can be traced back to July of 1953 when Compagnie Chérifienne de Transports Aériens Air Maroc and Compagnie Chérifienne de’l Air (Air Atlas), two Moroccan airlines, underwent a merger. The airline adopted its current name in June 28, 1957.
The Chief Executive Officer of RAM since Feb 6, 2016 has been Abdelhamid Addou. He was appointed to the position by the king of Morocco, King Mohammed VI.
What people are saying
The airline had mixed reviews, with the majority being somewhat negative. On SkyTrax, RAM garnered a total of 4 out of 10 rating while on TripAdvisor, it got a 3 out of 5 star rating.
Passengers rated the staff service and value for money as the airline’s best assets, while harshly criticizing RAM’s inflight entertainment and boarding policies. Here are the reviews:
“From the reservation counter to the flight attendants all very kind and professional.
The flight was smooth and seats were comfortable although old.”
– Vicki W
“Paris to Bamako via Casablanca with Royal Air Maroc. Nice food. Business class seats ok. Friendly crew. The good stops there. Royal Air Maroc still has a very disorganised boarding policy, with 150 people waiting in the jetway for 30 minutes with no explanation.”
– F Yates
“Crew was pleasant, the trips itself was completely fine. The food was fine, nothing extraordinary. Check-in, baggage claim all quite standard and normal.”
– Susana Valen
